Avengers 2 Release Date Confirmed

It’s not been long since The Avengers portalled into cinemas, garnering critical acclaim and lots and lots of wonga, but Marvel and co. have been quick out of the block to set up a second movie. We already know that Joss Whedon will be taking the helm once more (no complaints here) but what alluded us was a possible release date.

Well, the wait is over. Check out this official statement by Marvel/Disney that tells us everything we need to know!

“The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios’ sequel to the biggest Super Hero blockbuster and third highest grossing film of all time, Marvel’s The Avengers. Joss Whedon returns to write and direct the UNTITLED MARVEL’S AVENGERS SEQUEL set for release May 1, 2015.”

OK, so we’ve got quite a wait but we’ve also got new Captain America, Thor and Iron Man movies to keep our appetites suitably Marvelicious during the three year gap.
