The Beach To Be Made Into TV Series

In 2000, Olympic mastermind Danny Boyle managed to get Alex Garland’s popular novel The Beach onto the big screen. Now, it seems, that same book is to be made into a television series.

The 1996 book – which follows a young man in search of a legendary idyllic beach – is being written by The Secret Circle scribe Andrew Miller, who hinted at the narrative of the show; “It’s about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted from society who try to start over in paradise but discover that while creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder.”

20th Century Fox will be in charge of production and you can probably expect it to launch in 2013.
