European Kickstarter Alternative Incoming

Kickstarter – the phenomena that sees users ‘donating’ money to a product or organisation to help see its creation – has had a lot of success in recent months, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The site requires U.S. residency in order to receive payments, preventing many potential concepts from forming over this side of the pond. ‘Gambitious’ is looking to change that, when they launch their European alternative soon. However, it won’t be exactly the same style as Kickstarter.

The main difference is that instead of donating, and receiving novelty goods, such as a copy of the final product, or a meeting with the game’s creator, you’ll receive shares in the business, with dividends paid like a real investment. And, unlike Kickstarter, it’s only for the games industry.

The service is expected to launch in Europe around the time of E3 (only 44 days!), with full international coverage coming later.
